Job Objective

TEP Centre is a pioneer in the emerging field of Education Partnership, specialising in research, design, implementation, support and evaluation of education programmes, projects and initiatives across the public, private and non-profit sectors. We seek to fill the role of a Human Resources and Admin. Assistant in our organisation.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication and training skills, with a proven ability to prioritize, plan and handle various tasks within the organisation.

Job Title: Human Resources and Admin. Assistant (HRA)
Reports to: Head of the Human Resources and Admin

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The HRA will be responsible for:

  • Work closely with the HR Lead to drive HR operations such as recruitment, training and development, performance management, leave management, process employee data and update company policies
  • Assist in the day to day operations of the Human Resources unit by supporting all internal and external HR related enquiries or requests
  • Maintain the Human Resources Information Systems and update employee records such as time and attendance, physical and electronic records management
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for all new hires, ensuring all activities and paperwork comply with the company’s employee checklist
  • Support in the implementation of performance management and ensure the process is objective, equitable, merit driven and transparent
  • Assist in the periodic review of KPIs, job descriptions and appraisal paperwork
  • Assist in the recruitment process by sourcing, shortlisting CVs, recruiting qualified candidates for various functions and performing reference checks
  • Collate training needs assessments, drive training plan and deliver training programmes including identifying facilitators (in-house or external) to enhance the delivery of bespoke learning interventions that address specific training needs
  • Maintain the HR management workplan and calendar
  • Communicate with relevant public services (pension managers, health insurance managers, tax executives) when necessary
  • Schedule and maintain the agenda of meetings, interviews and HR events
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  • Assisting with other tasks as required

  • Can use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) tools effectively
  • Excellent analytical skills and advanced proficiency in written and oral English
  • Strong training and presentation skills

Experience/ Qualification

  • Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Sciences or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of cognate experience in the development sector, research, education, policy advocacy
  • Experience in working with international development organisations desired
  • Experience of working on development and/or donor/grant-funded programmes will be an added advantage
  • Multilingual speaker desirable, especially in Hausa and French
  • Based in Lagos and willing to travel nationally and internationally
