Job Objective

TEP Centre is a pioneer in the emerging field of Education Partnership, specialising in research, design, implementation, support and evaluation of education programmes, projects and initiatives across the public, private and non-profit sectors. We seek to fill the role of Senior Programme Officer in our organisation.

The ideal candidate will have strong research, monitoring and evaluation, analytical, communication and training skills with a proven ability to lead, plan and manage organisational systems. The successful candidate will work as a key part of the core implementation team to coordinate the design and delivery of various programmes within the organisation.

Job Title: Senior Programme Officer
Department: Research, Monitoring & Evaluation and Learning (RMEL)
Reports to: Programme Director

Key Roles and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead the research design processes and studies as required, including the development of effective data collection methodologies and instruments and scripting of digital tools where required
  • Lead and manage the conduct of fieldwork and related processes, secondary data collection, data analysis and data cleaning to the satisfaction of partners and clients
  • Coordinate validation exercises and represent the organisation during the dissemination of findings
  • Satisfy reporting requirements for all stages of RMEL projects, and lead the development of fieldwork and data analysis reports
  • Lead in findings presentation and learning sessions related to project results
  • Assist in training and ascertaining competence of field researchers, enumerators, supervisors and other field team members
  • Assist in the development of new RMEL partnership, grant opportunities, RMEL project scoping and RMEL project onboarding
  • With the support of the communications unit, guide the RMEL team to develop monthly knowledge pieces which may include peer-reviewed journal articles, academic blogs, working papers, multimedia presentations and other knowledge-sharing platforms
  • Represent the RMEL team on the weekly Unit Heads meeting and monthly staff meeting
  • Represent the organisation in external engagements, RMEL conferences or programme evaluation
  • In partnership with the HR unit, support the expansion of the RMEL team through identification and recruitment processes for additional talent
  • Other tasks assigned by management relating to the RMEL function of the organisation

Experience/ Qualification

  • Master’s or PhD degree from a recognised university in a field such as Education, Research, Development, Social Work or any other relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in areas such as research, education, policy advocacy.
  • Experience of working in the international development sector is desired
  • Experience of working on development and/or donor/grant-funded programmes will be an added advantage
  • Multilingual speaker desirable, especially in Hausa and French
  • Based in Lagos and willing to travel nationally and internationally
