Ahmed Fathy is a visionary leader, renowned for his unwavering commitment to climate and sustainable development issues. As the Founder and CEO of the Youth Love Egypt Foundation (YLE), based in Cairo, his passion for the environment goes beyond theoretical knowledge, enriched by his extensive field experience both locally and internationally.
Ahmed’s journey began at Cairo University, where he distinguished himself as an influential youth leader through active participation in various student models while pursuing his studies in the Faculty of Commerce. His financial background, combined with a genuine zeal for the environment, has further empowered his expertise in green finance. Recognized by CARE International as a certified trainer in climate change, Ahmed’s dedication to climate education and advocacy has earned him well-deserved accolades.
After graduation, driven by an unyielding passion for environmental issues, Ahmed established the Youth Love Egypt Foundation (YLE) to promote environmental awareness and advocacy. Leading a team of experienced professionals, YLE has achieved remarkable milestones, gaining accreditations from prestigious organizations such as the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). These accreditations underscore YLE’s global prominence in climate action and sustainable development initiatives.
Since its inception in 2012, YLE has made significant strides both on local and international platforms. Active participation in COP26 and accreditation from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), along with fruitful partnerships with organizations like the Barcelona Convention for Mediterranean Countries, further illustrate the foundation’s impactful work.
As a distinguished graduate of the esteemed Max Tabasco Fellowship for Community Leaders, Ahmed Fathy has made his mark in the environmental sector, contributing as a speaker and advocate in numerous climate summits, UN General Assemblies, and conferences of African and Mediterranean Environment Ministers.
Currently, Ahmed holds multiple senior positions and plays a vital role in preparations for climate conferences. He serves as the National Coordinator of the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PAJCA), the official focal point for World Cleanup Day in Egypt, and is a dedicated member of the Arab Youth Council for Climate Change.
